Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 6, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Romit Karetiya ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Gallery Photo Editor (the "App").

Gallery Photo Editor is a mobile gallery application designed to help users view, organize, search, edit, manage, share, and protect photos and videos stored on their Android device.

Important: The current V1 version of the App is designed primarily to process and manage your photos and videos locally on your device. The App does not intentionally upload your photos or videos to our servers.

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Access

To provide gallery and media-management functionality, the App may access photos and videos stored on your device after you grant the required Android permissions.

Depending on your device and the media available, the App may access information associated with media files, including:

The App accesses this information to provide its gallery, album, search, editing, sharing, favorites, deletion, recycle bin, and private album features.

3. How We Use Your Photos and Videos

The App uses photos and videos available on your device only to provide the functionality of the App.

This may include:

We do not sell, rent, or intentionally use your photos or videos for unrelated commercial purposes.

The current V1 version does not use your photos or videos for AI training, facial recognition, advertising targeting, or unrelated analytics.

4. Photo Editing

Gallery Photo Editor provides photo-editing functionality that allows you to modify photos stored on your device.

Depending on the available editing functionality, this may include:

Photo editing is designed to be performed locally on your device. Your photos are not intentionally uploaded to our servers for editing.

Depending on the editing operation, the App may create a new edited media file or modify or replace an existing file.

You are responsible for reviewing edited media and maintaining backups of important original photos before performing editing operations.

5. Private Album

Gallery Photo Editor provides a Private Album feature designed to help protect selected photos and videos from normal gallery access within the App.

When you move media to the Private Album, the App may:

Private media is intended to be accessible through the App's Private Album after successful authentication.

Private media is not intentionally uploaded to our servers.

6. Biometric Authentication

The App may use Android's biometric authentication system to protect access to the Private Album.

Depending on your device, Android may support authentication methods such as fingerprint or face authentication.

The App does not receive, collect, or store your fingerprint, face scan, biometric template, or other biometric information.

Biometric verification is handled by the Android operating system. The App receives only the authentication result, such as whether authentication was successful or unsuccessful.

7. Private Album Security Limitations

We take reasonable measures within the App's design to protect Private Album content. However, no application or storage mechanism can guarantee absolute security.

Private Album protection may be affected by circumstances outside our control, including:

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and authentication methods.

8. Local Application Data

The App may store certain application-related information locally on your device to provide its features.

This may include:

This application-related information is stored locally on your device and is not intentionally transmitted to our servers.

The App does not store the actual full-size photos or videos inside its local database as database BLOB data. Media files remain managed through the device's media storage or the App's private storage where applicable.

9. Permissions

The App may request Android permissions necessary to provide its functionality.

Photos and Videos

Photo and video permissions allow the App to access media stored on your device for viewing, organizing, editing, searching, sharing, and management.

Biometric Authentication

Biometric permission allows the App to request Android biometric authentication when accessing protected features such as the Private Album.

You may deny or revoke permissions through Android settings. However, certain App features may not function correctly without the required permissions.

10. Search

The App provides local search functionality for your media.

Search may use locally available information such as:

Search functionality in the current V1 version is based on media information and metadata available on your device.

The current V1 version does not perform AI-based facial, object, or image-content recognition for search.

11. Sharing

The App allows you to share selected photos and videos using Android's system sharing functionality or applications selected by you.

When you choose to share media with another application, that application may process the media according to its own privacy policy and terms.

We are not responsible for how third-party applications handle media after you choose to share it.

For Private Album content, the App may create a temporary shareable copy or URI where required by Android before sharing. Temporary files created for sharing may be removed after the sharing operation when technically possible.

12. Deletion and Recycle Bin

The App provides functionality for deleting photos and videos and managing deleted items through a Recycle Bin or supported Android media trash functionality, depending on the device and Android version.

Deleted media may remain available for restoration while it is inside the supported Recycle Bin or trash period.

Media that is permanently deleted may not be recoverable.

You should carefully review selected media before deletion and maintain your own backup of important photos and videos.

13. Advertising

The current V1 version of Gallery Photo Editor does not include Google AdMob or other advertising services.

The App does not currently display advertisements and does not use your photos or videos for advertising purposes.

If advertising services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy may be updated to describe the relevant advertising services, information practices, and user choices.

14. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on Android operating-system functionality and third-party libraries or software components required to provide features such as media access, biometric authentication, video playback, image processing, file sharing, or other application functionality.

Such components may process information as necessary to provide their technical functionality.

The current V1 version does not intentionally upload your photos or videos to our servers through the App.

Third-party applications that you choose to interact with, such as applications used for sharing media, are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

15. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures within the design of the App to help protect information managed by the App.

These measures may include:

However, no electronic storage or security method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

16. Data Retention

Application-related information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the relevant media, clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or the App otherwise removes it as part of its functionality.

Recycle Bin items may be automatically removed after the applicable retention period supported by the App or Android.

Private Album content remains in app-controlled private storage until you restore or delete it, or until the App's private storage is removed.

Important: Uninstalling the App or clearing its application data may permanently remove Private Album media and other locally stored application data. Make sure you restore or back up important private media before uninstalling the App or clearing its data.

17. Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

Because the App primarily operates on media stored locally on the user's device, we do not intentionally request children's personal information for account creation or remote storage.

18. Your Choices

You control how the App accesses and manages your media.

You may:

Some features may stop working if the required Android permissions are denied or revoked.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, its features, applicable requirements, or our data practices.

When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy may be updated.

You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about how the App handles information.
